Nintendo's GameCube was a real game-changer when it was released on September 14, 2001 (Japan). It was Nintendo's first console that used optical discs as storage devices, those that are similar to miniDVDs. But the compartment was small and hence could not play the regular CDs or DVDs. The console also supported online gaming via the modem and connected to the Game Boy Advance that gave its user exclusive unlocks. 

 

The console received huge praise, especially for the great and high-quality games, and its extremely user-friendly controller. This allowed Nintendo to sell about  21.74 million units worldwide. Sadly the console was discontinued in the year 2007 with the Wii taking over as the flagship console.

The game allows you to play as Link, who is out to save his beloved sister from the clutched of the evil sorcerer, Ganon. In this quest Link explores vast oceans with the help of massive ships, which are primarily run by the wind, also which can be controlled.

 

3. Super Smash Bros. Melee

 

 

Genre: Fighting

 

It's a mashup of all your favorite Nintendo game characters from Zelda, Mario, Starfox and of course Pokemon. The one thing different about this fighting game is that it records damage as an increasing percentage rather than a depleting health bar.

A game that allows players to pick their characters from a huge pile, with added weapons, and several different game modes and awe-inspiring moves. The game unfolds the events that happened in the year 1591, four years after the events of Soulcalibur I.

 

 

 

6. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

The game follows the events that take place about seven years after the ones in the Sands of Time. The Prince is being hunted down by a monster Dahaka whose purpose is to destroy the man who uses the sands of time and doesn't die. The Prince now has the ability to wield two weapons and the sands of time.

 

 

 

7. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes

The twin snakes is a remastered and remade version of the classic Metal Gear Solid, the game that made stealth games a huge hit. The game plays out with the govt soldier Solid Snake who neutralizes nuclear threats made by terrorists and frees hostages.

 

 

 

8. Super Mario Sunshine

 

 

Genre: Action-adventure

 

The game surrounds Shadow Mario, Mario, and Princess Peach. Shadow vandalizes and spoils the island where Mario and Peach are vacationing. Mario gets the blame and is tasked with cleaning up the island while saving the princess.

A racing game set in Mario's world with all its characters competing against each other. The game allows two players per car, where one can drive and the other can use special items that aid the rider. The game allows as many as 16 players to race simultaneously.

A game that has Mario's brother Luigi as the protagonist who tries and saves all the characters including Mario. He has to wade through a haunted house defeating and capturing all the ghosts that he encounters using a device provided to him by Professor E. Gadd. The one thing that gamers complained of was the short length of the game.
