Gal Gadot is the Israel-born actress who is all set to play the coveted role of Wonder Woman. A superheroine who struggles to understand the intricacies of the world of men but overcomes it to save what's left of the goodness in humans. We first saw Gal in the Fast and Furious movie franchise with the movie's 2009 iteration. She played the role of Giselle Yashar, a slender, motorbike riding she-warrior!

Gal Gadot was crowned Miss Israel in the year 2004. She was just 18 years of age at the time and was the most beautiful woman that all of Israel had seen.

 

 

 

2. She was an Israeli soldier

 

As it is mandatory for all Israeli residents to serve in the army, this beauty too, served in the Israeli Defence Forces for 2 years as a combat instructor.

 

 

3. Purposely lost the Miss Universe contest

 

As the winners of national beauty contests get to compete in the Miss Universe pageant, so did Miss Israel 2004. But she purposely underperformed as she had decided that it was all too much. She had even confessed to Jimmy Kennel on his show, "I'm not that type of girl".

 

 

4. Her name means

 

She has a unique name that literally means 'girl' in English but in Hebrew, it has the meaning of 'wave' (Gal) and 'riverbank' or 'shore' (Gadot)

Gal Gadot isn't entirely Israeli. She has 1/4th Polish, 1/4th  German, 1/4th Czech and 1/4th Austrian ancestry. All of those ingredients combined gives us the Powerpuff 'Gal'
