September is named after the Latin term for seven, septem. Nothing other than that is known to be the derivation of the name of this month

The birthstone of the month of September is sapphire, a stone that is representative of wisdom and one which was worn by people from royal lineage!.

When Germany declared war on Poland on September 1, 1939, the second world began. Britain and France took Poland's side two days later!

On September 3, 1995, Pierre Omidyar started Auction Web, an online retail store as a "favor to his girlfriend" which turned out to become eBay today!

Jimi a well-known name in the rock music circuit, as a guitarist, singer-songwriter, was described as arguably the greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He died choking on his own vomit due to barbiturates overdose at the  Samarkand Hotel in London when he was just 27.
