The best-known escape artist & magician the world has ever seen, Harry Houdini performed for the last time at the Garrick Theatre in Detroit, on October 24, 1926. 

 

 

 

11. Houdini's death!

 

 

 

Harry Houdini suffered through his last performance on October 22 and is said to have collapsed when the curtain was dropped, midway through his show. He was then rushed to the hospital and an appendicitis surgery was performed, but that couldn't save the great escape artist. He breathed his last surrounded by his wife Bess and his brother Theodore Hardeen.
